Patrizia Quattrocchi (UNIUD, Italy) and Anna Maria Rossetti (SEAO, Italy) were welcomed for their secondments at UTERUS–GIMNOGRÁVIDA in Porto, Portugal, by Isabel Ferreira and Diana Lopes, as part of the interdisciplinary and intersectoral staff exchange activities of the MSCA Staff Exchanges project IPOV RESPECTFULCARE.
In the morning, Patrizia Quattrocchi visited the centre and interviewed its director, Isabel Ferreira, to gain deeper insight into the development and implementation of the centre’s model of care and the services it provides. The discussion focused on its holistic approach to maternal health, promoting personalised and respectful care for women throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.
In the early afternoon, Anna Maria Rossetti, who is also undertaking a secondment at UTERUS–GIMNOGRÁVIDA, joined the meeting. Together with Isabel Ferreira, they discussed the design and development of new educational materials that will be incorporated into the Training area of the IPOV RESPECTFULCARE platform, coordinated by Ema Schuler (UNER) and Anna Maria Rossetti (SEAO): respectfulcare.eu/training
The materials proposed by Isabel Ferreira and Anna Maria Rossetti will provide new resources for health professionals over the coming months, including dedicated content on the salutogenic approach to maternal care.
Within Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, MSCA Staff Exchanges support short-term international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary secondments of staff involved in research and innovation activities. These secondments allow researchers, healthcare professionals and other staff members to work temporarily within partner organisations, exchange knowledge, develop new skills and strengthen collaborative networks. In projects such as IPOV RESPECTFULCARE, they are essential for connecting academic, clinical and social perspectives, fostering mutual learning across countries and sectors, and translating research on respectful maternity and childbirth care into practical tools, training resources and shared institutional knowledge.
