The IPOV Digital Platform
A Platform for Knowledge, Evidence, and Training on Obstetric Violence
Our platform is designed as a living repository of knowledge, created through an interdisciplinary process shaped by IPOV’s international secondments and the joint work of universities, hospitals, observatories, and civil society organisations across Europe and Latin America.
It brings together research-based content, such as analyses, bibliographies, articles, survey reports and case studies, alongside original photographic and audiovisual materials documenting exchanges, learning processes and training activities developed throughout the project.
Through a comparative perspective, the platform makes accessible evidence and experiences on obstetric violence and respectful maternity care, while supporting the development of practical tools and free specialised online training to improve care practices during pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period.

Project-based areas developed by the IPOV team around the main priorities of the project, including materials, tools and training resources created through research, secondments and collaboration.
The Innovation Hub are the core areas of work developed within the IPOV project.
They bring together coordinated focus areas such as Perinatal Mental Health, Restorative Justice, Training, Transformative Practices, and Laws and Human Rights.
Each area will provide access to its key contents, activities and, where applicable, the people or teams coordinating the work.

The Repository section will function as a structured space for browsing research, documents, projects and comparative materials related to obstetric violence. A structured repository of Global Research, Laws and Public Policies.
It includes external and comparative materials, as well as new IPOV-created content in specific areas such as Artivism & Voices, and Obstetric Violence Observatories.

_ What Is the Platform
and How Can You Get Involved?
Explore, share, and co-create with the global community
The IPOV Platform is a collaborative space for sharing knowledge, experiences and resources on obstetric violence and respectful maternity care.
We invite researchers, professionals, observatories, organisations, artists, activists and civil society initiatives to take part in this growing international community. You can contribute by sharing research, projects, testimonies, visual materials, practical tools, training resources or relevant initiatives from your country or field of work.
By contributing to the platform, you help expand a collective repository of knowledge, strengthen international collaboration and make visible diverse experiences and practices that can support change in maternity care.

Get involved, share your work and help us build a more respectful future for pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care
Research-based written resources
The platform publishes texts produced by professionals taking part in the project: comparative analyses, annotated bibliographies, short articles, survey reports and case studies.
These materials are organised into interconnected thematic sections such as research and tools, public policies and good practices, health professional training, women and social movements, breastfeeding and newborn care, as well as human rights and legislation, and news and opportunities.
Alongside written documents, the platform also includes original photographic and audiovisual content, including short videos that capture international exchange experiences and training activities.
Purpose, Approach and Future Development
The IPOV Platform is an evolving knowledge hub designed to support reflection, dialogue and action on obstetric violence and respectful maternity care.
Through interdisciplinary reflections and comparisons across diverse regional contexts, the platform’s materials examine the ethical, political, social and legal implications of obstetric violence, as well as its recognition as a form of gender-based violence.
Building on this work, the platform will serve as the foundation for developing practical tools and specialised online training—free and openly accessible—to support knowledge transfer and contribute to transforming pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care practices.
