January 15, 2026Birth Philosophy Seminar: IPOV–Respectful Care, a Collective Construction
You are invited to take part in this online seminar, designed as a space for dialogue and co-construction.

The seminar will take place via Google Meet. To join, simply open the scheduled event in Google Calendar and click “Join with Google Meet” (or the meet.google.com link). A stable internet connection and a modern browser (or the Meet app) are enough.
Patrizia Quattrocchi (University of Udine, Italy), coordinator of the IPOV–RESPECTFULCARE project, will present key updates as the project reaches its two-year mark (it started on 1 January 2024). We will then open a dedicated discussion to gather contributions that can help shape the next steps of the International Platform against Obstetric Violence.
The meeting, organised by Stella Villarmea (Complutense University of Madrid), is especially addressed to civil society organisations, professional health associations, researchers, and experts. We are looking for active participation: comments, proposals, priorities, resources, experiences, and expressions of interest in collaborating. This will not be only a presentation, but an invitation to build together a collective space that is useful, rigorous, and responsive to real needs.
What is IPOV–RESPECTFULCARE
IPOV–RESPECTFULCARE is a European Union–funded project (HORIZON-MSCA-2022 Staff Exchange; Grant Agreement 101130141), coordinated by the University of Udine. It brings together an international consortium of 19 institutions from Europe and Latin America to strengthen research, training, and knowledge transfer aimed at preventing obstetric violence and promoting respectful perinatal care.
What is the IPOV Platform
The IPOV Platform is an evolving digital space to share resources, evidence, tools, and good practices, and to support exchange among civil society, professionals, researchers, and policymakers, with the goal of enabling concrete action against obstetric violence.
About Patrizia Quattrocchi
Patrizia Quattrocchi is a professor and researcher at the University of Udine and the coordinator of the IPOV–RESPECTFULCARE project. Her work sits within anthropology applied to health and care settings, with a focus on experiences, practices, and social frameworks related to maternity and reproduction.
