Key Sessions and Discussions
Morning Session (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Patrizia Quattrocchi examined the origins and practical implications of obstetric violence, analyzing how physical and verbal abuse have become institutionalized within medical settings.
Afternoon Session
Participants critically analyzed landmark rulings from the European Court of Human Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, focusing on how these judicial bodies have addressed cases of obstetric violence through a gender-sensitive and legal-linguistic lens.

Strengthening Research and Collaboration
This event also provided an excellent platform to introduce our IPOV-RESPECTFULCARE project and to explore opportunities for future research and advocacy collaborations.
This workshop was a key initiative within the PRIN 2022 PNRR project “Rights and Prejudices: Linguistic and Legal Implications of Gendered Discourses in Judicial Spaces” (GenDJus) [Project Code: P2022FNH9B]. The project is funded by the European Union under the NextGenerationEU program and Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) – Mission 4 “Education and Research.”
